Rare Fossil Fish Preserved in Diatomaceous Earth

Rare Fossil Fish Preserved in Diatomaceous Earth

$2,750.00

An unidentified species of fossil fish from the rarest of locations known as the White Hills of California. The few specimens that exist were collected by quarry men while mining silica in the early 1900’s. A good study of the site was published in 1923 and I am enclosing the title page if anyone wishes to explore further. Origins of this specimen are unknown. It is set in plaster in an original frame with label.
